Customer Responsibilities and Security Guidelines
At BIMB, we prioritize the security and safety of your online banking experience. To ensure that your account is protected, we kindly remind all our internet banking users to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Monitor Transaction Alerts (Post Notification)
Regularly check transaction alerts sent via push notifications through our mobile banking app and emails. Prompt action can help you detect unauthorized transactions early.
2. Monitor Account Balances and Statements
Review your account balances and statements regularly for any discrepancies or unauthorized transactions.
3. Report Errors or Discrepancies
If you notice any errors, discrepancies, or unauthorized transactions, promptly report them to BIMB for investigation and resolution.
4. Verify Message Authenticity
Verify the authenticity of any messages purportedly sent by BIMB. Contact our customer service or visit to the nearest branch if you have doubts about the legitimacy of any communication.
5. Be Cautious of Suspicious Messages
Do not click on links or open attachments from suspicious SMS or emails. Report such instances immediately to our Fraud Hotline at 03-26 900 900 or the National Scam Response Centre at 997 (8:00am to 8:00pm daily).
6. Stay Informed
Stay updated on security tips, scam alerts, and fraud awareness materials available on the BIMB corporate website and our social media channels.
7. Read the Privacy Notice
Familiarize yourself with our Privacy Notice to understand how we handle your personal information.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Understand that BIMB will not hold customers responsible for fraud losses from unauthorized transactions unless:
▪ The customer has acted fraudulently.
▪ The customer has refused to cooperate with BIMB during the investigation.
▪ The customer has failed to fulfil specific obligations:
▪ Do not disclose banking credentials (access ID, username, password) to third parties.
▪ Keep your security device secure at all times.
▪ Report any security breaches or loss of security devices to BIMB immediately upon awareness.
By following these guidelines and understanding your responsibilities as a user of BIMB’s internet banking services, you contribute to maintaining a secure banking environment for yourself and others.
