Steps to Take if You Fall Victim to a Scam
If you believe you have been scammed or notice any suspicious activity on your account, follow these steps:
▪ Contact National Scams Response Center (NSRC) Immediately:
▪ Call NSRC at 997
▪ Provide all relevant details about the suspicious activity to our fraud prevention team.
▪ Contact BIMB Fraud Hotline Immediately:
▪ Call our Fraud Hotline at 03-26 900 900.
▪ Provide all relevant details about the suspicious activity to our fraud prevention team.
▪ Report to PDRM:
▪ File a report with your local police department.
▪ Forward a copy of Police Report to the nearest branch.
▪ Secure Your Account:
▪ Perform or activate the Kill Switch feature either from WEB or mobile app.
▪ Document Everything:
▪ Keep records of all communications (WhatsApp, Telegram, email etc) and transactions related to the fraud.
▪ Note the date, time, and details of the scam and whom you spoke with at BIMB and the authorities.
Perform a Kill Switch
In the event of a suspected fraud, you can temporarily disable your internet banking access to prevent further unauthorized transactions:
1. Log in to Your Account:
▪ Access your BIMB internet banking account via the official website or mobile app.
2. Activate the “Kill Switch” – WEB, Mobile Banking App, & BIMB Biz.
Bank Islam Internet Banking (IB)
- Log into Bank Islam Internet Banking (IB) https://www.bankislam.biz
- Next to the User Guide, click on " Kill Switch" at the top of the menu.
- Click on “Start Kill Switch”.
- Select ID Type and provide ID Number.
- Verify your Kill Switch request by entering the One-Time Password (OTP) code.
- Kill Switch request is considered successful when you receive an SMS notification and acknowledgement is displayed on screen.
BIMB Biz
- Launch BIMB Biz app.
- Select the Kill Switch option (located below the Forgot Password menu). This will redirect you to Bank Islam Internet Banking.
- Next to the User Guide, click on " Kill Switch" at the top of the menu.
- Click on “Start Kill Switch”.
- Select ID Type and provide ID Number.
- Verify your Kill Switch request by entering the One-Time Password (OTP) code.
Kill Switch request is considered successful when you receive an SMS notification and acknowledgement is displayed on screen.ly:
3. Contact BIMB:
▪ Call our Fraud Hotline at 26 900 900 or NSRC @ 997 to report the incident and get assistance in reactivating your account once it is secure.
